Wheelan Motors is a blue-collar workplace comedy that follows three dysfunctional brothers, their larger-than-life parents, and the eccentric staff of the business where they all work: a family-run car dealership in small-town Iowa.

 

Ultimately, the series is about finding happiness in the most unexpected places. In the pilot, Brooks Wheelan fails in every endeavor only to find himself back at the dealership and with the family he’s been trying to escape his whole life. But what if being home is where he was meant to be all along?

 

After Brooks has an incident that lands him in a mental institution for three days, his dad comes and bails him out. Out of options he starts working back at Wheelan Motors, which his family has owned for generations. It’s crazy but maybe his older brothers, mom, dad, the dealership staff, and his childhood friends might be what he needs to understand life. It also doesn’t hurt that the woman he’s loved since first grade works across the street.

 

Wheelan Motors is funny, loud, and sincere. It tells the true story of a real place where real people live. Brooks grew up watching television shows that made fun of living in places like Iowa and having jobs like selling cars. Well this show won’t make fun of that, it’ll embrace it. There’s nothing wrong with making an honest living in an honest place. However, maybe the Wheelans and the residents of Manchester, Iowa aren’t exactly perfect…
